Mijas the return.

This was a much longed for break as the last 3 months have not been easy with recurring problems and constant meds. So many that in fact a couple of nights before the break, it was touch and go if I was actually going to make it.

1.30am on Thursday 15th Oct, alarms went off and our travelling began, taxi to the airport and taking ourselves through the new  security at Newcastle, very bright clean and easy. Through to the other side and champagne before the flight.

After a very scary take off, we settled down to sample and enjoy the food and drink menu, getting into the holiday spirit. All going well until we were approaching Malaga, when we were caught up in a hurricane, ok that might be over egging the pudding but it was  scary and even the guy sitting on the aisle seat was looking a bit scared. I had hold of Tracey's hand and she had hold of the mans hand! He never complained.

We were through passport nonsense in no time, got our cases and headed off to the underground car park where a coach was waiting for us.

On we got, and sat, and sat, and sat for an hour...............the coach then set off and we thought we would be at our hotel in 30 mins top. Nope. After tempting us by heading to the Mijas road, the coach then took us along to the 'delights 'of Benalmadena. We finally were dropped off at our hotel 2 hours after getting on the coach.

We headed to the reception, only to be informed that our usual rooms were not available, I thought it was because they were being decorated (I was severely sleep deprived), there was a lot of reasons thrown at us, we were told we were being upgraded and sent off to the bowels of the hotel, floor 1. Remember this hotel is built on a hillside, you enter at floor 5.

we walked for what seemed like another hour after getting out to the lift and went into lovely rooms with terraces, as this was the ground floor. However the terraces faced a municipal car park, and play area. I   was not liking this at all and as I always look at the safety aspects was not to happy with that and the long dimly lit corridors we had to walk through to get to said rooms.

We got changed and headed to the pool, for a swim and some shut eye. That was never going to happen as a large group of very loud Americans made sure we all knew they were there. Nothing to do but hit the bottle.

Tracey went to have a word about the rooms and was told to ask tomorrow, meantime, we got showered changed and headed to the bar where Gabriel has gone from being grumpy to my new best friend.

A pizza and couple of martinis saw me ready for bed, it had been a very long day.
