A couple of weeks ago we headed off to Easthampstead Park, a Victorian Mansion house in Berkshire.
One to tick off the 'Big Birthday list' of places and things I have never been to/done.
On what had to be the worst day to travel due to horrendous rain, we arrived after 7 hours and just in time to sit down to eat!.
It was a retirement/christmas party and set in a marquee in the grounds ( there are over 80 acres of park and woodland).
It was a good evening although for me the food was in very small portions.
The bedrooms were spacious and well presented
Breakfast was good and the service in the restaurant was really good. I did however find the staff on the reception, slightly 'robotic' and not too communicative.
The reception and overall hotel decor was wonderful and the hotel was immaculate.
The grounds ( as far as I could see) were stunning even on a drab winter morning.
Overall it was a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't hurry back.
I will however say that as I was obviously building up for a bout of the flu, I was not really taking in a lot of the surroundings.
So December has a tick and I still have one more place to go to this month, that I have never visited before.
Happy Christmas
